This year we are holding six Africamp expeditions to Kenya. If you are planning your trip, then we have a checklist to help you. We will be updating this page regularly so keep an eye out!
This year our Africamp projects concentrate on the main areas where Moving Mountains, our charity, is doing some great work (Ulamba, Embu), plus two new areas on the slopes of Mount Kenya in Central District.
Africamp 1: 27th June - 25th July
Based in Western Kenya the team will be building an Office and Security Post at the site of the Ulamba Centre (where we have previously built two Orphanages, a Medical Clinic and a Community Hall) . Africampers will also put in some of the preparation work for the Early Child Development Centre.
UK Leaders: Chris Little, Cat Melia, James Walton
Kenyan Leaders: Eva Muronji, Osman Mohammed, Kenneth Amani, Caroline Ngatha
Africamps 2 & 3: 5th July - 4th August
Our second and third Africamp teams are based on the slopes of Mount Kenya near the small town of Naro Moru and Nanyuki. One team will work on the renovation of a rural school called Tigithi, repairing walls and putting in windows and doors, while the other group will be putting in the foundations for a dormitory at the Nanyuki Rescue Centre for Street Children, and buying supplies like mattresses, blankets and kitchen equipment. Both of these are new projects identified by our Nairobi Moving Mountains Team.
UK Leaders: Andy MacDonald, James Walton, Erin Clark, Nikita Bujwid

In that time the Africamp expeditions and many volunteer groups have built two wonderful orphanages, a community hall and a clinic. The project will also include running our famous Sisi Kwa Sisi Children Camps.
